The Wildflower Art Gallery is one of the newest and most unique additions to the Wimberley art scene with acrylic paintings from Texas Hill Country Artist Linda Calvert Jacobson.
Her beautiful and colorful paintings capture the joy of standing in a field of Texas Wildflowers that those of us who live in Texas are able to enjoy in person each spring and summer.
Growing up on rural Texas farmland, Linda’s talent for painting, her love of flowers and memories of her childhood give viewers of her art the unique experience of being part of the scene.
When standing closer to the art you see the textures and bright colors of her acrylic paintings, but standing back across the room provides a much different view, as if you are surrounded by the flowers – you can almost smell them!
Each painting is a one-of-a-kind original piece painted by Linda on gallery wrapped canvas in sizes ranging from 6’x6′ up to 4ft x 5ft. Many of her paintings are scenes of fields of Texas Wildflowers, and she also has collections of Poppies, flowers in vases, trees and other works.
The Wildflower Gallery also carries gifts such as notecards made from her prints and other items with the reproduced work imprinted on umbrellas, coffee mugs, purses and other small gifts. They have recently begun carrying jewelry and clay sculptures from other local artists.
